This Star-Burst AMR Data Transceiver is a plug-and-play direct replacement solution for your obsolete analog cellular bag phones offering minimized cost, complexity and installation time.
The majority of analog cellular bag phone AMR installations are interfaced with the electric meter’s internal “Hayes compatible” telephone modem. The Star-Burst provides a direct replacement solution by incorporating front-end circuitry that seamlessly converts the telephone modem interface to CDMA digital cellular, thereby eliminating the unnecessary expense of upgrading meters with an RS232 serial port to interface with other AMR devices.
The Star-Burst Data Transceiver is available with two enclosure options. The economical NEMA-1 enclosure is designed for mounting inside the meter socket cabinet, while the weather-tight NEMA-4X enclosure is rated for exposed outdoor mounting. Installation is simple. Once an activated unit is mounted in the desired location, the user simply connects the power and modem interface, and the site is ready for access. A variety of internal and external antenna packages are available to meet your needs.
